III IIIIIIIIIIIII III KERB COAL COMPANY -PERMIT RENEWAL 04 PROPOSED PUBLIC NOTICE Kerr Coal Company (Kerr) has filed an application with the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) for renewal of the approved M+ni ~ and Reclamation Permit for the Maa Mme and associated loadout. Box 487 Colorado 80477 Walden, Colorado 80480 (970) 723-4721 The Mme is located approximately ten miles east of Walden, Colorado on County Road 12E and the Loadout is located on the south edge of Walden adjacent to the Illinois River and the former Louisiana-Pacific ]umber mt11. The proposed Permit renewal covers areas within the Mute and Loadout permit boundaries which encompass the following specific areas: Township 8N, Range 78W, 6~^ Principal Meridian -Section 2 Towtuhip 9N, Range 78W, 6~ Principal -Sections 22, 23, 25, 26, 27 and 35 Township 9N, Range 79W, 6~ Principal Meridian - Sections 28 and 29 These areas are shown on the Johtmy Moore Mountain, Gotild NW, Walden, and Eagle Bill 7.5 minute USGS Quadrangle Maps. The following individuak or entities hold surface or mineral rights and interesu within the Mme and Loadout permit boundaries: U.S. Department of Interior -Bureau of Land Management State of Colorado -Board of Land Commissioners Kerr Coal Company Kerrco, Limited Centurian Investment Company Louisiana-Pacific Lumber Company Active mining operations ceased in 1993 and Kerr has proceeded with reclamation of mining and associated support facilities disturbance areaz. Under applicable regulatory requiremenu for thine reclamation, the operator remains responsible for site reclamation for at least 10 }ears after permanent seeding of the reclaimed areas. The requested renewal would extend existing permit approvals for an additional 5 years.
