Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company May 7, 2003
Mr. Ron Roberts -3- 033-2203
During the repair of panel L436, it was noted that meteoric water had seeped through one of the
punctures and beneath the adjacent panel L517, partially saturating a portion of the SLF. Golder
determined that the depth of moisture penetration into the SLF was limited to the upper 0.5 inch. On
April 27, an approximate 15-foot square section of the panel was cut open and the liner laid back to
allow the SLF to air-dry. Figure 13 presents a photograph of the SLF with the liner laid back. Within
a few hours, the SLF had dried out and the area was inspected and approved by Golder for liner
repair. The liner repair was completed on April 28. Figure 14 presents a photograph of the repaired
liner in panel L517.
CLOSURE
LI
I•
Golder appreciates the opportunity to continue supporting CC&V with the Phase IV VLF CQA
program.
