Long <br />FROM: Berhan Keffelew Div is ion Direr Wr <br />RE: Mentzer Quarry Hydro REVIEW M-76-009 <br />As you requested,I have reviewed the designs for the storm water <br />control structures provided in the amendment.The review :_ncluded <br />the access road crossing at phase 2 channel phase 2 channel and <br />detention Basin no 1.A design storm event of 10 year 24 ho3Lr event <br />was utilized.The operator also provided the total cfs for the 100 <br />year 24 hour events used. <br />In the application titled as INDEX,a narrative of the h}•drology <br />with explanations as to why certain CURVE NUMBERS were picked for <br />the different watersheds was provided.Although some of the <br />assumptions were a bit liberal,the fact that storm water does not <br />have set parameters at its discharge point and only requires best <br />available technology to decrease sediment loads to receiving <br />streams should allow them to meet the minimum requireme:nts.The <br />design meets the requirement. <br />
