Please note that existing stockpiles along the
south and west sides of the existing 10 acre Hewes Pit do not and will not meet these setback
requirements.
3) Ultimate Mine Slopes: Due to the lack of overburden or significant waste quantities in this deposit,
it is not cost effective to backfill for reclamation. Instead, the reclamation contours will be achieved
through cut slopes. Within each phase, the top of cut and toe of cut slope will be staked to
delineate the area in which the operator must maintain the reclamation slopes. The applicant
commits to relocating and resurveying these stakes as necessary as mining progresses deeper.
4) Concrete Plant: The concrete plant has been removed from this application and from the attached
maps. If the applicant desires to include a concrete plant in the future, a Technical Revision will be
submitted to address the location, bonding requirement, and water impacts.
5) Extraneous Equipment: Attached please find a list of all remaining miscellaneous items on the
east rim of the existing pit. All 55 gallon drums have been removed from the site. The remaining
fuel storage containers are currently empty, and will be removed from the site or relocated to a lined
secondary containment berm located within the existing pit prior to refilling. The area in which the
equipment is located is shown on Exhibit C-1.
6) County Pit South of CR3: The County Pit located south of CR3 has been added to the mining and
reclamation plan. No additional mining is anticipated. The reclamation plan has been modified to
show 3:1 reclamation slopes. The site has already been reseeded with the mix approved in the 110
