Copies of the current CDPS permits aze included in Attachment 8 of this document. The
monitoring points associated with the CDPHE permits are shown on Drawing 2.
The inclusion of the water quality-related permits and a map showing locations of the
monitoring points satisfies Section 5.9.3 of the proposed CCMOD regulations.
Colorado Departmeer ojTranspor[a~ion ("CDOT"):
CC&V has discussed the activities associated with Amendment No. 8 with CDOT. In an action
separate from Amendment No. 8, State Highway 67 will be relocated to the south of the existing
valley leach facility ("VLF"). CDOT has been actively involved in the planning and design of the
relocation. Attachment 3 of this document is a traffic survey, which also discusses the potential
vehicular use of State Highway 67 through [he life of the Cresson Project, including during
construction, operations, and reclamation. CC&V holds a number of existing highway access and
crossing permits, which are listed in Amendment No. 8, Volume I, Exhibit M.
Colorado Srate Engineer's Oj~ce:
CC&V purchases water from the City of Victor and has aback-up supply plan with the City
of Colorado Springs, both existing water rights holders, for use at the Cresson Project.
Copies of the agreements with the Ciq~ of Victor and the City of Colorado Springs are
contained in Appendix 9, Volume VIII of the OMLR Amendment No. 8 application. Further.
a Substitute Water Supply Plan has been filed with the State Engineer's Office, as described
in Amendment No. 8, Volume I, Exhibit M. This plan outlines, io part, mitigation for loses of
water that may result due to containment of precipitation falling on the VLF and other
existing synthetically lined areas.
Colorado Divisioe ojR'ildlije ("CDOW"):
CDOW has been consulted for previous activities associated with the Cresson Project and will be
consulted by the OMLR on the Amendment No. 8 application.
Wildlife in the District are addressed in Amendment No. 8, Volume I, Section 4.6.2 of the
Project Description. The District is located in elk and deer habitat of no "special" value. CC&V
allows bow hunting for elk and deer by its employees (by lottery and in compliance with State
hunting requirements), in consultation with CDOW. This assists CDOW in managing the deer
and elk herds in the area. There are no known wildlife migration corridors in the area or other
wildlife habitats that require special consideration. CC&V has not encountered a conflict
between the mining activities and use by wildlife. Wildlife continue to use both [he areas
adjacent to the disturbed areas and the reclaimed areas. Further, the reclamation plan is designed
to enhance wildlife habitat through revegetation with a mixture of grasses, forbs, and shrubs that
are attractive to resident wildlife. The reclamation program is outlined in Amendment No. 8,
Volume 1, Section ] 1.0 of the Project Description.
io
