Banta.
Drvison D~recmr
I have asked Bruce Stover from our office to review your technical revision
requesting to use gob as fill material in the stack tube's coal storage pad,
as he is more practiced in geotechnical issues than myself.
In order to complete the review of this proposal, the Division would like to
have more specific geotechnical characterizations of the gob, native clay
fill, and colluvium proposed to be used to •construct the foundation pad.
Specific geotechnical materials parameters used in the numerical analysis, as
well as the shear test results on the similar samples, should be provided so
that we are aware of the assumptions that were made in performing the analysis.
If for some reason some of this information exists in the permit binders,
please point me in that direction. Otherwise, please send the requested
information as soon as possible.
If you have questions, do not hesitate to call.
Si/ngerely,
% ~ ~ '
_ i
~~ i,~•~"' ~' %~.~ - ~ :yo- 1, y i,/,~'C~-
Christine E.%Johnston
Reclamation Specialist
CEJ/bjw

0709E
