That packet included compaction reports
and proctor test records conducted at the Lower Refuse Pile during
the fourth quarter of 1995. It also included visual inspection
report summaries for both the Lower Refuse and the Lone Pine Gulch
piles. Apparently insufficient material had been deposited at Lone
Pine Gulch to warrant density testing.
Proctor and Density Teat Reporting
In response to my earlier requests, Norm Johnston of Lambert &
Associates has amended the proctor test reporting procedures and
the field sampling methodology. The changes will solve the earlier
recurring reporting problems.
Character of the Waste
The Proctor results and the field gradation results do demonstrate
the character of the waste encountered this test episode. The
materials are approximately 40% to 50% coarser than 3/4" by weight.
while this does not qualify as durable rock it is an abnormally
large proportion of coarse rock. It does explain the variation in
density results due to coarse debris within the detection sphere.
Slope Stability Monitoring
The survey monitoring data demonstrates the monitored slopes to be
performing well.
