Box 483, Paonia, Colorado, 8~~®,oh~EerS~~,gtl~~~ to <br />the Division of Minerals and Geology a complete application for the renewal of a valid <br />existing permit to conduct mining in Colorado for its Bowie No. 1 Mine permit No. C-81- <br />038. <br />The Bowie No. 1 Mine is located in Delta county, approximately four (4) miles north of <br />Paonia, CO. The Bowie No. 1 Mine loadout, located in Delta county approximately one <br />mile east of Paonia, CO south of State Highway 133 has been removed from the <br />permit. The surface facilities, located north of the North Fork of the Gunnison River, are <br />located in portions of Sections 23 and 24, Township 13 South Range 92 West; and <br />Section 29, Township 13 South, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M. The mine permit area <br />is located on the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute Bowie and Gray Reservoir, <br />Colorado Quadrangle maps within the following sections. <br />Township 13 South. Range 92 West. 6`" P.M. <br />Sections: 1, 2, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 15, 22, 23, 24 and 25 <br />Township 13 South. Range 91 West. 6`" P.M. <br />Sections: 5, 6, 7, 8, 17, 18, f 9, 29, and 30 <br />containing 8541 acres more or less. <br />The Bowie No. 1 Mine permit area contains 8,541 acres of land, 6,368 acres of private <br />surface and 2,173 acres of Federal surface. Private minerals within the proposed <br />permit area encompass 213 acres with Federal minerals accounting for the balance of <br />8,328 acres. <br />A copy of the proposed renewal application is available for public inspection at the <br />Paonia Public Library, 140 Grand Avenue, Paonia, CO, and at the offices of the <br />Division of Minerals and Geology. Written comments, objections, or requests for <br />informal conference regarding the permit renewal application may be submitted to and <br />additional information obtained from the Division of Minerals and Geology, 1313 <br />Sherman St., Room 215, Denver, CO, 80203-2273, phone (303) 866-3567. Written <br />comments or objections must be submitted to the Division within thirty (30) days of the <br />cast publication of this notice. <br />
