The revision
was submitted by Trapper Mining [nc.. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the
Regulations initiate from [his date of filing.
This technical revision addresses the submittal of designs and discussion for secondary sediment control basins
(dozer basins) and for livestock ponds. The dozer basins are temporary excavations which control sediment on
not-yet-reclaimed mine land. Dozer basins drain to primary sedimentation ponds. Each dozer basin is, or will
be, typically, less than one acre-foot in size. Although the number of dozer basins will fluctuate, there are
about 48 dozer basins at present.
Livestock ponds are similar to dozer basins except that they are located on reclaimed mine land and are meant
as permanent watering basins for future livestock grazing. At present, there are 72 livestock ponds at the mine
site, with each one having a containment volume of .33 acre-feet.
The surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately six miles southwest of Craig, Colorado.
The permit area is further described as follows:
Township 5 North.
