As with our other gravel pits, we will only be working out of this one
as: we work the roads in that iQUnediate area. We shouldn't disturb
more than one acre at a time. The depth and thickness of the gravel
deposit which we will be mining will vary. In most places, the gravel
will be to a depth of 60 inches from the surface. In some spots it will
be somewhat deeper and in others more shallow, But I believe 60 inches
is the average.
2. Your staff recommends planting perennial grasses on the topsoil stock-
pile to minimize wind and water erosion potential from long-term stor-
age. We wish to co-operate in ar>ry way necessary. We will always go
with staff recommendations.
B, Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan
1. We are aware that the planting of a cover crop and seeding of native
grass species are two separate operations in the reclamation process.
We will abide with the SCS recommendations.
Enclosed are the mail receipts signed by land owner and adjacent land owners,
notifying them of intent to permit a pit, Also, I am sending you the page from
the Yuma Pioneer with the final publishing. I will forward the editor's proof
of publishing in the next day or so, as soon as he sends it to me.
Please let me know if I have forgotten anything.
Sincerely,
rn~~~
Micki Sandgw. t,
Road Secretary
