(WECC) operator of
Mt. Gunnison No. 1 Mine at Somerset, Colorado
submits this Quarterly Refuse Pile Report for
second quarter, 1985.
III III III III IIII III
999
the
the
The initial waste rock pile area is now the new shop
expansion pad as permitted. WECC requests relief
from monitoring the WR 2 and 3 wells as there is no
longer any waste rock material in this location to
have possible effects on ground water.
The mine supply storage yards permitted for
construction on the east portal bench waste rock area
are being built at this time. This project should be
completed this fall.
The main waste pile, on the now WECC-owned U.S. Steel
land, east of the administration office has remained
stable after this spring's sluffage. All buffer
zones, ditches and berms are well maintained and
operational.
A positive response to the waste rock well relief
would be appreciated. Should there be any questions,
please call.
Sincerely,
~ ~\
Robert D.
