for diversion construction until 1998. This permit term
expires in 1997. It is Peabody's understanding that only
facilities to be constructed during this permit term 1993-1997
need to be considered in the permit renewal process.
The same rationale holds true for the comment No. 26 regarding
the 2.4 inches vs. 2.5 inches. The same response holds true
for comment No. 28.
~2~8. Please see response to comment No. 17.
29. The vegetation type around the old bone yard and office is
classified as pasture. According to soil type 27A this falls
into the B type hydrologic group. Assuming the lowest (worst)
cover situation of 30-70$ translates into a CN = 69. Please
refer to Attachment 7-6-7, Table 7-6-7-5 on Page 7-6-7-6a.
30. After discussion with CDM&G personnel it was decided that
monitoring of surface water runoff from these small area
exemption areas may be conducted in lieu of siltation
`~ structures. The snowmelt sampling has been completed, but the
rainfall has not. As soon as all sampling has been completed,
this information will be submitted to the Division. If the
results of monitoring show elevated sediment levels the
location, routing structures and silt fences will be provided
to CDM&G.
~1. This situation has been rectified on attached pages 12-6 and
YYVII 12 -7 .
~. The text on Page 12-22 has been modified to state water
quality data for the shop well are reported in the Seneca II
Annual Hydrology Reports.
~33. Page 12-37c has been revised to include the statement on
factor of safety.
,~~34. Page 12-37e has been revised to reflect the phrase "or
reconstructed."
35. The typical fill section Road B was removed because it was a
duplicate of the typical road section detail. The designation
of A, B or D refers only to typical ditch design sections and
j~ not to typical road sections. There is only one typical road
L section utilized at the mine and it is shown as a cut and fill
section. Exhibit 7-14 has been revised to clearly label the
various typical ditch and road section details.
36. The reference to design load of E80 was removed because it was
an out of date reference and no longer valid. Haul roads are
designed based on geometric and engineering criteria
appropriate for the anticipated volume of traffic, weight and
6
