Incidental Boundary Change
Dear Sir or Madam:
The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section I I6, Paragraph
4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on February 18, 1999, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Bowie
No. 2 Mine was consideredcomplete for the purposes of filing. The revisionvvas submittedby Bowie Resources Limited. All
review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing.
Approval of this technical revision would allow an incidental boundary change in order to conduct development mining in
federal coal. This technical revision can not be approved until Bowie Resources has secured the federal lease for the right of
entry to that federal coal. The incidental boundary change would add 59 acres of private surface and 20 acres of federal surface
to the northwest corner of the perm it area. The entire 79 acre proposed addition is federal coal. There would not be any change
in the conventional room and pillar mining method employed nor would there be any increase in the production rate.
The undergroundcoalmTning operation is on land located approximately 5 miles northeast of Paonia, Colorado. The permit
area is further described as follows:
Portions of Sections 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 14, I S, and 16, Township 13 South, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M.
The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Bowie.
A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Delta Counry Courthouse, 5th & Palmer,
Delta, CO 81416, and at the Division office. For additional infortnstionor to provide written comments, contact the Division

comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be submitted within fifteen (15) days of this letter. If no
comments are received by then, we will proceed on the assumption that you have no concerns with, or objections to, the
applicant's proposal.
