In particular,
a new tailings pond has been constructed to the east of Adit #2 (see Plate 1, Technical
Revisions) and an acreage reduction is requested. In addition, the mill buildings have been
moved downhill ISO feet. The attached reports addresses issues that you addressed in your letter
of October 31, 2002.
The milt buildings were moved downhill, in the trees, to lessen the visible impact. A new
tailings pond was excavated because more material needs to be mined at the site of the existing
pond, in order to make room to continue using it. Are acreage reduction at the northern boundary
was requested, in order to add a corresponding acreage at the southern boundary. This is needed,
se that area that might be affected by the new tailings pond is within the perniitted area.
Mining operations will resume, in accordance with the current Mining Plan (Mine permit
No. M-Bb-(?76j, when the new tailings pond is filled to calxicity. The speci5cations of the new
pend's constnrction are sufficient to handle the design stomp event. Please call if you have any
questions.
Sincerely Yours, ) L/~
C~~`~
Brian Bond
