Long <br />Division Director <br />This letter is to inform you that the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology is proposing to approve a renewal <br />application for a coal mining and reclamation permit. The application was submitted by Kaiser Ventures, Inc. on <br />September 29, 1998, for [he Colorado Coal Mine No. 1. <br />Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request a formal <br />hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board within 30 days of the first publication of this notice by the <br />Division in [he Huerfano World. <br />The surface mine is located approximately 4 miles northwest of Walsenburg. The permit area is further described <br />as follows: <br />4 Miles NW of Walsenburg <br />Copies of the renewal application are available for public review in the Division offices at the above address and <br />at the Huerfano County Clerk and Recorder's Office.
