The following seed mix will be used to vegetate the diversion
ditch. Streambank wheatgrass and Mountain brome were selected
because they are both considered valuable erosion control
grasses. Western wheatgrass was chosen because it starts
growth in early spring. Basin wildrye was selected because it
is a salt tolerant species.
Broadcast
#/Acre PLS/SF
Streambank wheatgrass, AaroDVron rioarium 4.0 14.3
Mountain Brome, Bromus marainatus 5.0 10.3
western wheatgrass, Aaroovron smithii 5.0 12.6
Basin wildrye, Elymus cinereus 4_5 13.4
Totals
18.5 50.6
8. The ditch will be stabilized in the long run with vegetation.
After the ditch is seeded, mulch and polypropylene netting
will be applied. The mulch and polypropylene netting should
provide good interim erosion control until the vegetation is
established.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sinceres~
Ji im Stover, P.E.
Chief Engineer
