III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII STATE OF COLORADO
Roy Romer, Gove
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
MINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVISION
FRED R. BANTA, Director
DATE: November 27, 1989
T0: Matt Hayes, Jeff Clayton
FROM: Tim King ~/
RE: Succession of Operator,
Blue Ribb ,Red Canyon
On this date I reviewed all documents submitted by the Grand Mesa Coal Company
(for the Red Canyon Mine, C-81-034) and the Blue Ribbon Coal Company (for the
Blue Ribbon Mine, C-81-047). In each case, I reviewed completeness and
adequacy concerning the succession of operator to MINREC, Inc.
Blue Ribbon Coal Company, Blue Ribbon Mine, C-81-047
Completeness
All items required by Rules 2.08.6, 2.03.4, 2.03.5, 2.03.6, 2.03.7(31, 2.03.9,
2.03.10, and 2.08.6(3) have been submitted with the exception of the bond in
the amount of 580,000. In cover letters to the Division, MINREC, Inc. stated
that this letter of credit will be "submitted shortly."
Adequacy
All items submitted which were required by the above rules appear adequate
with the exception of the CDPS permit. This permit expired June 30, 1989.
In this file, it appears that no renewal has been submitted. Therefore, a
renewal to this permit needs to be submitted before the Division can approve
the Succession of Operator.
Grand Mesa Coal Company, Red Canyon Ptine, C-81-034
Completeness
All items required by Rules 2.08.6, 2.03.4, 2.03.5, 2.03.6, 2.03.7(3), 2.03.9,
2.03.10, and 2.08.6(3) have been submitted with the exception of the bond in
the amount of E74,000. In cover letters to the Division, MINREC, Inc. stated
that this letter of credit would be "submitted shortly."
Adequacy
A11 items submitted that were required by the above rules appear adequate.
A71 permits appe/art in order and have not expired.
/ern ~ /~ (~V ~; Pr
1718E It./ ~ ,~- (~ ~M ~ ~~~~ 'G~l ~ ~ ~l ~ l
215 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203-2273 Tel.
