Stevens
Colorado Department of Natural Resources
Division of Minerals and Geology Division of Minerals & (3ovidgy
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Dear Sir,
The Spring Creek Pit operated by Delta Sand and Gravel, Co.
is located on prime farmland soils in Montrose County.
These soils are Mesa clay loam and Mesa gravelly clay loam,
0 to 2 percent slopes.
We would like to recommend changes in the reclamation plan.
First, we would rather have the grass seed drilled instead
of broadcast. Secondly, the grass seeding mixture should be
changed according to the enclosed seeding sheet. According
to our information the crested wheatgrasses will have the
best chance of success on this dryland site. Thirdly, the
reseeding site should be fertilized according to a soil
analysis.
Also enclosed is a soils description sheet for your
reference.
Sincerely,
~~~ ~`~~
Fred C. Miller
President
