already built or being built in the area, and wondering <br />about the provision for water and sanitary conditions; <br />workers have been observed carrying water bottles down hill <br />from the trailers. <br />Observing that laborers who live on this site work outside <br />of what would be regular daily business hours for others and <br />are often working holidays. <br />Noting that the forklift that is used on site does not <br />have a roll-bar for worker protection, and the type of <br />backhoe that is used (a Terex) is known for not having good <br />braking system, or meeting noise limitations. Mine and <br />Safety and Health in Golden confirms that this quarry has <br />not had a safety inspection in the year 2000. Should not <br />this be a requirement before issuing a permit for expansion? <br />The surrounding neighborhood has changed since this Masonville <br />Stone began operations. It is much more populated consequently <br />the quarrying impacts many more people who actually live nearby. <br />With this continued development in mind, we would think quarrying <br />would be contained rather than expanded.
