Box 711
Canon City, Colorado 81212
Re: Snider's Aggregate, Inc.
Our File No. 77-I93
Dear Mr. Wittmer:
As you are aware, an application has been made to our Division to convert
the permit for the above-captioned operation from a limited impact, li0
status, to a regular, 112 status. The basic changes to the perm::t w.ili
be an increase in permitted acreage from 9.25 acres to 22.5 acre;: and
a removal of the maximum tonnage Limit of 70,000/year. The operation
will not really change in a qualitative way. It will still be a gravel
mining and crushed rock quarrying operation. The amount of the rinanciaZ
warranty will be increased accordingly, as well.
Blasting will be required to remove rock for crushing in both plzinnec7
mining areas. This will be done in combination with the gravel removal
operation, which does not require blasting.
I suggest that you review a copy of the conversion application. One is
now available for such review at the Fremont County Clerk's Office in
Canon City.
This application is scheduled to be heard by our Board during the: July
2I-22 meeting. Please feel free to call me if you have any furtF~er
questions in this matter.
Sincerely,
hfark S. Lo ye
Senior Reclamation Specialist
MSL/mmt
s
