As you can see, Map 54 is quite congested with design data. MCC elected to remove a
few extraneous labels from the map, including the "dumpster and gravel bunker area" annotation,
to aid in "decongestion" of the map. These facilities aze included on Map 53, "Distribution of
Surface Facilities at the West Elk Mine", and are not part of the sediment and drainage control
facilities to be shown on Map 54.
2. See response No. 1 above. These walls are shown on Map 53 and are not part of the
drainage and sediment control facilities to be shown on Map 54.
3. Map 54 has been revised to include the ditch D2-7A label, along with the culvert
C2-101abel, as the small ditch will overlie the culvert.
4. MCC had sent the wrong Table 44 to the Division that included an "width" column. A
revised Table in the approved format (without that column) is attached. The depth and width of
ditch Dl-SA is based on a ditch carrying 1.24 cfs, and are 0.65 and 2.61, respectively. A copy of
the ditch run is attached for your review. Ditch D2-7D derives runoff from watershed 2D. A
peak flow from a 10-year, 24-hour flow has been calculated to be 0.03 cfs. The minimum ditch
flow calculated within the SEDCAD+ utility is 0.1 cfs. Thus, the ditch sizing reflects this
minimum size. However ,the flow shown in Table 44 will not be increased, as this will jeopardize
the accuracy of future modifications of the routed ditches.
