.. ..
(i) Final Grading.
This will consist of replacing the available to psoil on the pit perimeter backslopes.
(ii) Seeding t}'pe, quantities and expected t ime of seeding:

Variety Species #!/A PLS
~ None given Indian Rice Grass 6.0
. None given Blue Grama 1.0
Barton Western wheatgrass 8.0
Luna Pubescent wheatgrass 8_0
^ Total #!A PLS 23.0
~ This is the broadcast rate.
Seeding is proposed for late Fall -late October and November. Past experience shows best
results seeding in this period.
(iii) Fertilization type, quantih and time of application.
40#/A available N&P will be applied shortly before seeding.
(iv) Revegetation -types of trees, shrubs, etc,
None proposed for this industrial usage reclamation.
(v) Topsoiling -specify anticipated minimum depth or rang a of depths for those areas
which will be topsoiled.
There are 2 soil types that have somewhat different topsoil availability. The operator Fvill
make every effort to salvage topsoil and growth media available.
The San Isabel Series in the SCS report states that the top 0" to 5" is stony sandy loam with
2> percent gravel.
The Ouray Series in the SCS report states that the top 0" to 7" is sandy loam with few
' scattered igneous pebbles.
Obviously, neither of these soil types has the highest quality topsoil. However, with the
humus buildup and annual moisture in the area, the prognosis for successful reclamation
should be satisfactory.
1
