Box 449 <br />Florence, CO 80226 <br />Re: Technical Revision to Reevaluate the Coai Refuse Pile Stability at the <br />Southfield Mine (Our File No. 81-014 - TR-14) <br />Dear Mr. Weaver: <br />We have received your technical revision application to revise your permit <br />(File No. C-81-014) to conduct coal mining in Colorado. Our initial review <br />indicates that all preliminary items required by the Colorado Surface Coal Mining <br />Reclamation Act, C.R.S. 34-33-101 et seg., have been submitted; thus your technical <br />revision application has been deemed complete for the purposes of filing on the <br />above date. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and Regulations <br />promulgated thereunder initiate from this date of filing. <br />A copy of the technical revision application, less any confidential information, <br />must be filed for public inspection with the Fremont County Planner or Clerk and <br />Recorder. Any subsequent changes or additions must also be made in this copy. <br />The proposed newspaper advertisement submitted with the application has been found <br />to be satisfactory. You should commence publication of this advertisement as <br />specified in Rule 2.07.3.(2) of the Regulations with the exception that the <br />publication need only be run once, and reference to the informal conference <br />specified in Rule 2.07.3(2)(d) should be deleted. Proof of the publication of the <br />advertisement must be filed with the Division as soon as available after the <br />publication date. <br />The staff is currently reviewing your technical revision application to determine <br />whether the items you have submitted are adequate in terms of meeting the <br />requirements for purposes of adequacy. You will be notified as to the Division's <br />findings of adequacy or inadequacy of your revision application.
