Corey rn ivo. ~
DMG 112 Permit Conversion Applicarion
EXHIBIT D -Mining Plan
d) We anticipate having no more than 20 acres of un-graded disturbed azea at any one time.
We will have no more than 800 feet of high-wall that would need to be sloped at any one
time. Paztial sloping of the east and west interior walls will be done concurrently with
the ongoing mining operation.
e) Mining may begin in the summer of 2003 after all permits have been issued. The entire
pit is considered one phase with final reclamation (i.e.: revegetation) occurring after all
gravel reserves have been removed. High-wall reduction on the east and west sides and
grading of the pit floor will be done concurrently with movement of the mining face to
the south as soon as is practical without interfering with ongoing mining operations. We
expect the life of the mine to be approximately 20 yeazs with the tazget date of fall of
2023 for completion of mining activities
f) The deposit to be mined consists of a glacial terrace deposit of sand and gravel with an
average thickness of about 40 feet. Soil overburden is chazacterized as reddish Mesa
Clay Loam with thickness of 4 to 14 inches on top of up to 24 inches of lighter Mesa
Gravely Clay Loam to pale brown extremely gravelly loam. Mancos Shale underlies the
gravel deposit.
g) The primary commodity to be mined is sand and gravel for construction aggregate.
h) We do not expect any incidental products to be mined/extracted by this operation.
