Justification is provided on amended
page 2.0~.4(2)(e)-16.
3c. The sample adequacy formula was appropriately amended. Other noted concerns were
eliminated by the switch from multiple cutting based evaluation to first cutting only.
4. Concerns satisfactorily addressed (for the same reasons noted in 3a, 3b, and 3c, above).
5. A one time sampling for dryland pasture areas is proposed in the amended plan, as
recommended by the Division. 'l'iming for the sampling was not addressed, nor were
provisions addressed for insuring that grazing does not interfere with data collection
during the years of bond release sampling. These items need to be addressed. The timing
of sampling is an important consideration for the dryland pasture, because the reclaimed _ _ .
areas aze dominated by cool season species, while the reference area has a significant
warm season component. It is suggested that sampling not be conducted prior to anthesis
of the dominant warm season grasses.
6. My
assumption is that the standard is based on live vegetation cover, as that is required by
regulation. The text needs to be appropriately amended.
Item satisfactorily addressed.
Issues from March 16 Memo
This item was not addressed in the amended plan.
2. This item was not addressed in the amended plan.
This item was not addressed in the amended plan.
A general comment I have is that the review of the amended plan would have been facilitated by
an item by item response to our adequacy comments. 1 am also curious regarding how old Mr.
Zene Weimer is.
cc: David Berry
m:lcoallh brlnltotr3 6 b. mem
