Lochhead <br />Executive Director <br />Michael 8. Lund; <br />Division Direnor <br />Picketwire Processing, LLC has applied for a bond release at the New Elk Mine. The bond release <br />application was found complete by this Division on August 03, 1998. Picketwire Processing is <br />requesting a final liability release on all lands within the southern portion of the permit area, as shown <br />on Figure 1 submitted with the application. All affected lands are owned by North Central Energy. <br />Mining ceased in this area in 1989. Reclamation liability for two, small disturbed areas within the <br />release acreage will be transferred to Basin Resources, Inc., No. C-81-013. The surface ownership is <br />private, and the coal mined was private. <br />We will contact you to advise you of the Division's required bond release inspection of the site as soon <br />as it has been scheduled.
