<br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and
<br />Geology psopous rhar an application to mnew a
<br />valid, existing permit to conduct coal mining and
<br />reclamation operations submitted by Enron Coal
<br />Company for the Meeker Arta Mints bt approved
<br />with stipulations.
<br />The Meeker Area Mines arc loratcd in Rio
<br />Blanco County, approximately six milts north of
<br />Meeker, Colorado. The renewal u for eclamation
<br />purpous only; no mining will take plea. The
<br />mined coal was fedtally and privately owned,
<br />and the affened surtarn was federally and privalt-
<br />ly owrxA. Ttre permit area ertcompassta approxi-
<br />mately 4,722 acres in SMion 3; TIN, R93w, and
<br />Sections 16, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29.32, 33 and 34,

<br />This propmed approval decision is based on a
<br />finding that the proposed operation wRl~comply
<br />wirer all requirements of the Colorado Surtax
<br />Coal Mining Reclamation Act, C.R.S. 34-3}101,
<br />et ua., and the rtgulations promulgated (hereun-
<br />der.
<br />Copies of the proposed decision including
<br />stipulaions, arc on fife for public inspenion at the
<br />Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology,
<br />Room 215, Centennial Building, 1317 Sherman
