Lonq
Division Director
Included with this fax is a memo and attachments relating to the
Green/Croissant Pit and your voice mail of yesterday, As you will see, there is
no issue with the stability analyses that Ross prepared. Rather, the issue is
with the type of structures to be protected (interstate pipelines) and the
potential for small-scale earth movements that may be caused by stress relief.
Strain gauges have been a standard requirement for protection of these types
of structures near gravel pits since pipeline operators in Colorado first raised
the issue in 1996. Please review these materials to form a basis for our
discussion of these matters, then give me a call.
My direct line is 303/866-4063.
Thanks, Allen
cc: Carl Mount, DMG (uia electronic transmission)
DATE: 01/23/2002 NUMBER OF PAGES TO FOLLOW:
PROGRAM: MINS.
