Long <br /> <br />Re: North Thompson Creek Mine (Permit No. C-81-025) Division Direcmr <br />Technical Revision Application No. 21 (TR-21) <br />Addition of Coal Ownership Map, Reclassification of Bridges, Cleanings Disposal Site, Retention of Road, <br />Delete Topsoil Stockpile, & Abandon a Spillway <br />Dear Mr. Hegeman: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4, <br />of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on October 19, 1999, an application to revise coal mining operations at the North <br />Thompson Creek Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by MINREC, Inc. All <br />review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Revelations initiate from this date of filing. <br />This technical revision adds Drawing Number D-3-20, Coal Ownership Map, to the Permit. It reclassifies bridges to foot <br />traffic, provides for a pond cleanings disposal area, incorporates a letter requesting retention of roads (see Enclosure), <br />recognizes the elimination of a topsoil stockpile, and recognizes an abandoned emergency spillway of Pond T-2 (see <br />Enclosure). ' <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approXimately 10 miles southwest of Carbondale, Colorado. The <br />permit area is further described as follows: <br />T8S, R89W; Portions of Sections 21, 32, 27, 28, 33, 34 and 35 <br />T9S, R89W; Portions of Sections 2, 3 and 4 <br />T7S, R88 W; Portions of Sections 20, 29, 30 and 32 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Stony Ridge & Carbondale. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Garfield Counry Courthouse, 109 8th St, Ste <br />200, Glenwood Springs. CO 81601, and at the Division office.
