<br /> <br />RECLAl1ATI0N PLAN <br />Brownwood •2 <br />Attached are the reclamation plan and adequacy responses from the original <br />Brownwood Pit, which become part of this reclamation plan. It is not <br />anticipated that the mining of Brownwood a2 will affect the reclamation plan <br />of Brownwood u 1, as haul routes to Prom Brownwood a2 sites will not cross <br />Brownwood ~ 1 to get to the hoc mlz asphalt plant. <br />Areas 1A and 3A ere to be reclaimed es ponds. Sideslopes on the ponds will <br />be held to a maximum of 3:1 to 10 feet below the waterline end a maximum <br />of 2:1 below that depth. Areas above the waterline will be covered with a <br />minimum of 6' of topsoil. The banks of the ponds will be reseeded down to <br />the waterline. Areas to be seeded, will be disked and raked using <br />conventional farming Implements. The seed will be dlsuibuted by broad <br />casting, Werefore the seeding rate below will be doubled. The following <br />seed mixture, which was recommended by the local Soil Conservation <br />Service office for the original Brownwood Pit, will be used: <br />Thickspike wheatgress (Critana) 5.5• PLS/Ac. <br />Side-oats grams (Vaughn) 2.25' PLS/Ac. <br />Switchgross (Nebr. 28) 1.125• PLS/Ac. <br />Alfalfa (Ladak) 1.0• PLS/Ac. <br />9.875• PLS/Ac. <br />Area 2A will be filled with overburden soils to a minimum elevation 6' to <br />12' above the groundwater table end topped with a minimum of 6' of topsoil. <br />This area will be reseeded and used as posture. Grading in Area 2A will be <br />generally flat, but will provide a gentle slope towards the northeast. <br />All areas to be reseeded will be fertilized with a 18-46-0 Diammonium <br />Phosphate mature at a rate of 100 pounds per acre. After the seed mature <br />is well established, the Owner will evaluate the need for weed oonuol. If <br />weed oonuol is necessary, the Owner will contract with an established weed <br />control service to neat the weeds. Care will be taken in spraying for weeds <br />near the ponds to prevent contamination of the water. In addition to the 20 <br />Souizland populars to be planted in conjuaction with reclamation of <br />Brownwood al, 20 additional Souuland populars will 6e planted around the <br />ponds to be formed. <br />
