Permit number <br />C-96-084, is Fling for a Partial Phase I Bond release with the State of Colorado, Division of <br />Minerals and Geology. Permit C-81-013 was issued by the Division on June 22, 1994. <br />The Lorencito Canyon Mine is located approximately 15 miles west of Trinidad, Colorado on <br />State Hwy. 12, within the unplatted Maxwell Land Grant, projected to be Sections 31 and 32, TS <br />33 S, R 66 W and Section 36, TS 33 S, R 67 W. These sections can be located on the USGS 75 <br />minute Little Pine Canyon quadrangle map. A total of 119 acres of projected surface disturbance <br />from mining is covered by a Coal Reclamation Bond in the amount of 52,400,000. <br />The permittee is applying for a partial Phase I Bond Release for approximately 86 acres of <br />surface, mined or disturbed during 2001-2002, that have been backfilled, graded and returned to <br />the approved post-mining topography. Division guidelines allow for the release of up to 60% of <br />the bond amount applicable to the release area in a Phase I Bond release. <br />Any written comments, objections or requests for a public hearing or informal conference <br />regarding this bond release application must be submitted to the Division of Minerals and <br />Geoloey, 1313 Sherman Street Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203 by September 20, 2003. <br />Sinserely~~ <br />~n~(jQ <br />Ronald G.
