' INTRODUCTION
' RAG Empire Corporation (RAG) is submitting this baseline information to the Colorado
Division of Minerals and Geology (CDMG) for approval of year 2001 sampling even[ data on
' RAG's Empire Mine (Permit No. C-81-044) Pasture Reference Area.
RAG's Empire Mine is asub-surface coal mine located in Ivtoffat County on Colorado State
' Highway 13, approximately 8 miles south of Craig, Colorado in Township 6 North, Range 91
West, Sections 31 and 32.
' No reclamation activities have begun, as of summer 2001, at the Empire Mine. Once
reclamation does begin, the Pasture Reference Area will set the standard by which vegetation on
the reclaimed areas will be compared to. The summer of 2001 sampling event was conducted to
' provide CDMG with baseline inventory data on the permitted Pasture Reference Area.
