Attached is the groundwater monitoring plan and mitigation
plan proposed by the operator. In addition, I have attached
a second report from ERO Resources providing site specific
information regarding the water table in and around the
mine.
7. At this time no water is used at the mine for development,
mining or reclamation. No water will be used for reclama-
tion or development but starting this spring water will be
needed for dust control. It is estimated that 3.0 acre-feet
+/- per year will be needed. The following table shows the
estimated monthly distribution. The actual need may change
due to weather and monthly precipitation so the numbers
should be used as estimates only.
rMONTH MONTHLY USE!
(AC-$RJ RUNNING TO-.
TAL ](AC-FT)
January 0 0
February 0 0
March 0 0
April 0.20 0.20
May 0.40 0.60
June 0.55 1.15
July 0.60 1.75_
August 0.55 2.30
September 0.40 2.70
October 0.30 3.00
November 0 3.00
December 0 3.00
Total 3.00
Thompson's are discussing a possible washing operation on
the site but until adequate water is available a wash plant
will not be installed. If this happens we can determine the
water needs once the wash plant is purchased. It will be a
closed system where the dirty water is cycled thru silt
ponds and reused. The water will be purchased from a local
provider and all Colorado water laws will be followed.
8. Dust control water will purchased from a local water pro-
vider and hauled to the mine. In addition, Thompson Proper-
