<br />NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology has issued a proposed decision <br />to approve a technical revision to the mining and reclamation plans for the <br />Seneca II Mine, Permit No. C-80-005, operated by Peabody Western Coal Company, <br />under the provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of <br />1979. The proposed technical revision (TR-27) was submitted by Peabody <br />Western Coal Company, on January 19, 1993 for the Seneca II Mine. The <br />affected area is located in Sections 1, 2, 3, 11, 12, and 13, TSN, R87W; <br />Sections 27, 34, 35, and 36, T6N, R87W; and Sections 6 and 7, TSN, R86W of the <br />6th P.M., in Routt County. <br />The subject technical revision addresses final adequacy issues related to the <br />second five-year renewal of the permit, including a reclamation cost estimate <br />and revisions to the revegetation success standard. <br />Copies of the proposed technical revision are available for review at the <br />Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology office, 1313 Sherman Street, <br />Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203. Any person who has an interest which is or <br />may be adversely affected may request a formal hearing regarding this proposed <br />decision. Requests for a formal hearing must be made in writing within ten <br />(10) days of this publication and shall state with reasonable specificity the <br />reasons for the request and objections to the proposed decision. <br />
