SURROUNDING WATER RIGHTS
Exhibit G-1 is a map of the permitted wells and adjudicated water rights within a half mile of the
site. Unregistered and unpermitted wells may be present on site. The well permit information
and adjudicated water right information are Exhibit G-2 and Exhibit G-3, respectively.
EXISTING DRAINAGES AT QUARRY
There are 3 separate drainages entering the proposed footprint of the quarry. Water originating
from these drainages will be managed in a phased approach. All three drainages are ephemeral.
Flows only occur when there is excess precipitation resulting in runoff.
The initial phases of quarry development will be above grade. Drainage will be routed through
the mining site either by piping or relocating and reconstructing open channels for conveyance.
All water will be returned back to the Arkansas River after appropriate management to remove
excessive sediment. Settling ponds will be the primary BMP used to clean storm flows from
these drainages.
Later phases of the quarry development will result in a closed basin that captures all drainage
from these three basins. Due to the steep slopes above the mine, it will be difficult to reroute
these drainages around the mining limits without excessive disturbance of the hillside. It is
proposed that any stormwater entering the mine site will be pumped and returned to the river for
the life of the mining operation. The operator has adequate water rights to augment any losses
that might occur while water is temporarily stored.
The quarry site will ultimately result in all drainage flowing into the pit once it is reclaimed and
turned into a reservoir. This event will happen many years in the future. It is anticipated that the
owner of the reservoir will be responsible for accounting of all captured water and passing
through any water that is stored out of priority.
WATER QUALITY
Please refer to Exhibit M for the status of the Parkdale Project's NPDES Permit.
Front Range Aggregates, LLC- Parlulale Quarry
DMG 112 Permi!
