Long <br />Division Director <br />Mr. Ral Burdick <br />Division of Wildlife <br />Northwest Regional Office <br />Attention: Mr. Bill Clark <br />711 Independent Avenue <br />Grand Junction, CO 81505 <br />Re: Foidel Creek Mine (Our File No. C-82-056) <br />Technical Revision No. 16 (Post-Mining Land Use Change> <br />Dear Mr. Clark: <br />Pursuant to Title 34, Article 35, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, the Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice that on <br />October 12, 1993, a technical revision application for a permit to conduct <br />coal mining operations by Twentymile Coal Company, 29515 Routt County Road <br />No. 27, Oak Creek, Colorado 80467, was deemed complete for the purposes of <br />filing. All reviews and comment periods as provided in the Act and <br />Regulations promulgated thereunder initiate from this day of filing. <br />The applicant proposes to revise underground coal mining operations at the <br />Foidel Creek Mine. The proposed change is focused primarily on areas of the <br />Foidel Creek permit area which overlap with the Eckman Park Mine permit area <br />(Permit No. C-81-071); the proposed revision will implement a single post- <br />mining land use. <br />The areas affected by this revision are located in the following described <br />lands: <br />Portions of Sections 1 through 23, and Sections 28 <br />through 33 of Township 5 North, Range 86 West; <br />Sections 13, 23 through 27, and Section 36 of <br />Township 5 North, Range 87 West; and Sections 32 <br />and 33 of Township 6 North, Range 86 West. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle <br />maps of Rattlesnake Butte, Milner, and Dunckley. <br />Because the above referenced technical revision application might alter <br />previously approved permit conditions or mitigation measures, we are <br />requesting your agency's evaluation of the proposal as it relates to fish and <br />wildlife considerations, including potential impacts to threatened or <br />endangered species. <br />
