Technical Revision No. 16 (Post-Mining Land Use Change>
Dear Mr. Clark:
Pursuant to Title 34, Article 35, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised
Statutes, the Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice that on
October 12, 1993, a technical revision application for a permit to conduct
coal mining operations by Twentymile Coal Company, 29515 Routt County Road
No. 27, Oak Creek, Colorado 80467, was deemed complete for the purposes of
filing. All reviews and comment periods as provided in the Act and
Regulations promulgated thereunder initiate from this day of filing.
The applicant proposes to revise underground coal mining operations at the
Foidel Creek Mine. The proposed change is focused primarily on areas of the
Foidel Creek permit area which overlap with the Eckman Park Mine permit area
(Permit No. C-81-071); the proposed revision will implement a single post-
mining land use.
The areas affected by this revision are located in the following described
lands:
Portions of Sections 1 through 23, and Sections 28
through 33 of Township 5 North, Range 86 West;
Sections 13, 23 through 27, and Section 36 of
Township 5 North, Range 87 West; and Sections 32
and 33 of Township 6 North, Range 86 West.
The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle
maps of Rattlesnake Butte, Milner, and Dunckley.
Because the above referenced technical revision application might alter
previously approved permit conditions or mitigation measures, we are
requesting your agency's evaluation of the proposal as it relates to fish and
wildlife considerations, including potential impacts to threatened or
endangered species.
