The applicant lists on Table 2. Post-Mining Reclamation Table acreages of vazious land uses.
Due to the complexity of the mining and reclamation plan, it would be helpful for the Division
during its review of the application to have a list of the following acreages both prior to
disturbance (existing conditions) and during final reclamation: unlined ponds, lined ponds, lined
water storage reservoirs, open or ground water-fed lakes, wetlands or marsh azeas, ripazian zones
subirrigated meadows, and upland meadows. The number of lined water structures and linear
feet of slurry wall or acreage of liner to be constructed would also be helpful. The applicant may
revise Table 2 or provide a new table with the requested information. Please respond.
2. The proposed reclamation plan provides guidelines for use and management of existing
wetland topsoil. The Division agrees with the applicant that salvaged wetland topsoil should be
"live handled" wherever possible. The Division also recommends that where stockpiling of
salvaged wetland topsoil becomes necessary, the operator be prepared to maintain the stockpiled
wetland topsoil in a wet or moist condition until ready for use. Please comment.
Exhibit G- Water Information
3. Rule 6.4.7(3) requires that the applicant provide an estimate of the project water requirements
including flow rates and annual volumes for the development, mining, and reclamation phases of
the operation. This would include volumes of evaporative loss expected during maximum pit
disturbance as well as during final reclamation. Please address.
STATE OF COLORADO
4. On page G-5, the applicant states that Western Mobile has installed a ground water monitoring
