Lochhead <br />Executive Uirecior <br />Michael B. long <br />Di~isiun Dueclor <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 118, Paragraph <br />3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on August l 1, 1997, an application to renew an existing permit to conduct coal mining <br />operations a[ the Munger Canyon Mine was considered complete for the purposes oC filing. All review and comment periods <br />as provided in [he Act and [he Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />The applicant proposes [o continue underground coal mining and/or reclamation operations on land located approximately 18 <br />miles north of Loma, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Mine site: Portions of Sections 2l, 27, 28, 29, 32, 33, and 3~1, T75, R102W, 6th P.M., all in Garfield County. <br />Portions of Sections 2 and 3, TBS, R102W, 6th P.M., all in Garfield County. <br />Rail Loadout: Portions of Section 23, T2N, R3W, Ute PM, in Mesa County. <br />Portions of Section 3, T1N, R3W, Ute PM, in Mesa County. <br />The above-mentioned vacts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Howazd & Garvey Canyon (mine) <br />and Mack (loadout). <br />The application is for renewal of an existing permit, and would not incorporate additional lands into the permit area. No change <br />to previously approved permit conditions, reclamation requirements, or mitigation measures has been proposed. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Garfield County Courthouse, 109 8th St Ste 200, <br />Glenwood Springs, CO 81601, and at the Division office.
