These editorial revisions in and <br />of themselves will not have an effect on properties eligible for listing on the National <br />Register of Historic Places (NRHP). However, our office is concerned with the direct and <br />indirect effects of underground coal mining at the Foidel Creek Mine on such cultural <br />resources, and therefore cannot agree with the requested determination of "no adverse <br />effect". <br />Based on the maps you provided to our office on March 29, a seazch of our database has <br />indicated that a number of cultural resource surveys have previously been conducted within <br />the permit azea: <br />Alpine Archaeological Consultants (1990) <br />Bureau of Land Management (1978, 1979, and 1990) <br />Colorado State University Laboratory of Public Archaeology (1975 and 2 surveys in 1977) <br />Foothill Engineering Consultants, Inc.
