Watcher
E0.ecmive Drteaor
Michael q, long
Dlrenor
11tis is to acknowledge the Division's receipt of your letter of January 18, 1999 requesting an extension of
the review period for the reclamation cost estimate provided to you by Tim Dillie on November l7, 1998.
Based on our meeting on 7anuary l4, 1999, the Division is agreeable to extending that review period to
May 31, 1999. Such an extension will allow the site to be inspected in May and verification madc of
reclamation completed in order that revision of the reclamation cost estimate might be considered. M
inspection in May will also allow a demonstration to be made of there being enough topsoil available at the
site for the Division to consider a revision of the reclamation plan eliminating the current permit
requirement that topsoil be imported for reclamation purposes. If approved, such a revision would also beaz
on the reclamation cost estimate.
~p Therefore, prior to the Division's inspection in May, Burala Construction should provide a map which 1)
~. ,~ V ®illustrates the reclamation that has been completed at tho site and 2) provides data both on the thickness and
~ extent of topsoil on site such that an estimate can be made of the volume of topsoil present.
- ~, ~~.
