Re: Phase III (final) bond release inspection at Mine 1 and the Eckman Pazk Mine near Oak
Creek, Colorado (Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology Permit C-81-071)
The Division of Minerals and Geology has scheduled a bond release inspection at Mine 1 and the Eckman
Park Mine. The Division received a bond release application from the mine operator, Colorado Yampa
Coal Company, on October 17, 2001, and found the application complete on October 22, 2001.
Time and date of the inspection: 8:30 a.m.. Friday, November 2. 2001.
Location of the inspection: Mine 1 and Eckman Park Mine, 8 miles northwest of Oak Creek,
Colorado.
From Oak Creek, follow Rout County Rd. 27 [o [he mine entrance (Twen[ymile CDaI Co. office)
From Hayden, Colorado, go 6 miles east of town on U.S. Highway 40 [o Rout County Rd. 27.
Turn south on Rd. 27, then go approximately 20 miles to the Twentymile Coal Co. office
Purpose of the inspection: To verify that a 2,338.5-acre tract of land on Mine 1 and the Eckman Pazk
Mine meets the regulatory requirements for Phase III bond release (final bond release). The
amount of the bond release request is $1,563,445.
