<br />NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology has issued a proposed decision <br />to approve a technical revision to the mining and reclamation plans for the <br />West Elk Mine, Permit No. C-80-007, operated by Mountain Coal Company, under <br />the provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. <br />The proposed technical revision (TR-73) was submitted by Mountain Coal <br />Company, on September 16, 1994 for the West Elk Mine. The permit area is <br />located in portions of Sections 9, 10, 15 to 22, 26 to 30, and 24, T13S, R90W, <br />6th P.M., in Gunnison County. <br />The subject technical revision is for a development waste rock pile containing <br />approximately 17,000 cubic yards, located in Lone Pine Gulch within the permit <br />area. <br />Copies of the proposed technical revision are available for review at the <br />Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology office, 1313 Sherman Street, <br />Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203. Any person who has an interest which is or <br />may be adversely affected may request a formal hearing regarding this proposed <br />decision. Requests for a formal hearing must be made in writing within ten <br />(b0) days of this publication and shall state with reasonable specificity the <br />reasons for the request and objections to the proposed decision. <br />
