This replaces the original access road design submitted to
you on May 21, 1984. Safety is the primary purpose for this relocation. The original
design daylights to a blind corner on Colorado Highway 12. The new design provides for
viewing traffic from a westerly direction. We have also applied to the Colorado Highway
Department (Atachment 1) for a temporary road crossing permit of Highway 12 during
topsoil stockpiling operations associated with construction of the refuse sedimentation
pond and bench.
Design calculations and locations of culverts and ditches for the access road are
presented below with associated locations shown on Figure NEMR2-1.
Should you have questions, please do not hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
S-h.,~ ~o.eynv...pp~~
Steve Magnuson U
Mining Engineer
Attachment
SM/DMS/jla
cc: Jack Snow
Mike Kolin
Dave Stout
