Sampling Locations
Surface water sampling in the EPR and Eagle River drainage has been undertaken by CMC, and
when coupled with data from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the data set provides a basis
for this antidegradation type analysis.
In total, CMC collected surface water samples in EPR, the Outlet of EPR, and three locations in
the East Fork. Within EPR, four sampling locations were established (EPR #I through EPR #4;
see Figure 1) where samples were taken from near the surface of the reservoir. (When the
reservoir first began to fill, samples were collected from the bank, and those results were not
used in this analysis). At EPR #1, samples were also collected from a depth of 35 ft below the
water surface, in addition to the surface sample. In addition, samples were collected from the
Outlet (waters released from EPR), as well as from three locations in the receiving stream:
ER_Al (on East Fork above the confluence of Outlet waters with the East Fork); ER_B1 (East
Fork below the confluence of Outlet waters and the East Fork); and ER_WB 1 (approximately
1 mile below Bl, still on the East Fork).
In addition to the data collected by CMC, the USGS also has water quality and streamflow data
available for this portion of the Eagle River. Because the USGS water quality data set is
limited, only the USGS flow data were used in this analysis, as described in Section 4. USGS
sample locations on the East Fork and the mainstem of the Eagle River are shown on Figure 1.
esotsst.oosotot osot osso
\~DOUltlert\tlatatprojects\194]_climax~ppr repOtt~.EOC
