Long <br />Division Dneclor <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 118, <br />Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on January 21, 1997, a permit renewal application for a permit <br />to conduct coal mining operations, Permit No. C-8i-033 by Bear Coal Company, Inc., was considered complete <br />for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining <br />Reclamation Act and the Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining <br />initiate from this date of filing. <br />The applicant proposes to continue underground coal mining and/or reclamation operations on land located near <br />Somerset, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Township 13 South, Range 90 West, 6th P.M. <br />Section 8: S2 SE/4 South of the River <br />Section 9: All South of the River <br />Section I5: W/2 NW/4, W/2 SE/4 <br />Section I6: All <br />Section 17: All except portions of the N/2 NW/4 and except portions of the NW/4 NEr4 <br />Section 18: SE/4 SE/4, NE/4 SFJ4, SE/4 NW/4 <br />Section 20: NW/4, NFJ4 <br />Section 2l: N/2 NE/4, N/2 NW/4, SW/4 NW/4 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Somerset, Colorado. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Gunnison County Courthouse, 200 E. <br />Virginia, Gunnison, CO 81230.
