Three holes were dug in the reclaimed facilities area. The holes were dug until a layer of coarse coaly material
was encountered. The following topsoil depths were recorded:
Reclaimed Facilities Area To soil thickness measured To soil thickness re uired
Hole 1 9 inches 3-6 inches
Hole 2 5-6 inches 3-6 inches
Hole 3 8 inches 3-6 inches
Topsoil replacement thickness was acceptable at the reclaimed facilities area.
Three holes were dug on the reclaimed development waste pile. The depth of the holes was limited by the
dryness and hardness of the soil at the deeper depth. No change in soil color or texture was encountered in the
topsoil holes. The following topsoil replacement thickness were recorded:
Develo ment Waste Pile To soil thickness measured To soil thickness re uired
Hole I 17 inches 12 inches
Hole 2 14 inches 12 inches
Hole 3 12 inches 12 inches
Topsoil replacement thickness was acceptable at the reclaimed development waste pile. Remaining topsoil was
replaced on small isolated disturbance areas if topsoil was available. The small isolated areas did not have hole
dug to verify depths. Topsoil was replaced as required by the Golden Eagle permit and in accordance with Rule
4.06.4.
The Golden Eagle Mine meets the phase II bond release criteria for Rules 4.15.8, 3.03.1(2)(6), 3.03.1(3)(6), and
4.06.4.
C:/jhb/team/Golden Eagle/SL03.doc
M:/coal/kag/C81013 SL03.doc
