_*
v.
S
Facilities Removal
Mike Savage and Trapper apparently agreed on a facilities removal cost of
$86,060. No detailed calculations are included in the record to substantiate
this. My estimate using Means Construction Data, and some estimates for items
not included in Means, came to $141,400. Although Means usually gives a very
conservative estimate, the costs I used did not include demolition of the
building foundations, as no information was given on them. Therefore I feel
that this may be a reasonable estimate.
Item Trapper Est. Savage Est. I have not found
anything in the record to explain this. Mike has indicated that some
recalculation was done before going to the Board, however there is no record
of this in the file. The $5.9 mil. figure is close to my estimate, if we use
the Wagner lease agreement for regrading costs. The current bond is $5.25
mil..
I feel that we can go either of two ways with this.
We can say that my lower calculation is close to what was
asked for before the Board, and so there is no reason to
ask for the additional $700,000.
We can ask for a higher amount of up to $7.35 mil., and
probably end up going before the board. If we choose this
path, I think that we should refine the revegetation and
facilities removal costs and cite appropriate references
before going to the board.
Doc. 4701
