Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
The Division has reviewed your 5 September 2007 submittal of Technical Revision 68 -
a borrow area for embankment material for the Section 28 Pond and possibly the Section
21 Pond. The Division has the following adequacy questions.
The sentence on page Exh. 7-14P-3 seems to end in mid-sentence. Please review
and correct as necessary.
In the second paragraph on page Exh. 7-14P-3, Colowyo commits to interim
sediment control measures during construction. Please include a description in
the text of the measures that will be used (i.e. silt fence, straw bales, etc).
3. In the third paragraph on page Exh. 7-14P-3, please include the size of the rock to
be used in the rock filter.
4. Please explain why the 1.1 acres of additional disturbed area would be re-seeded
using the access road seed mixture? This area is additional disturbed acres and
should likely be re-seeded to the permanent seed mix rather than a temporary mix.
Please review and change as necessary.
The legend inaccurately identifies the rock check dam symbol in Figure 2, Exh. 7-
I4P, Borrow Area Sediment Control Plan. Please correct the figure as necessary.
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver Grand Junction Durango Active and Inactive Mines
