Cut slopes of 2:1 or steeper aze more difficult to reclaim than 3:1 (or less) slopes. However,
2:1 slopes are acceptable if they are adequately revegetated and stable after reclamation has
been completed.
Could not locate the NRCS seed mixture referenced in the latest response. The existing
approved seed mix (after adding Prairie Junegrass, as requested by the DOW) is adequate
so there is no need to change the mix if you don't want to. However, if the NRCS
recommends another seed mixture that is similaz to the existing mix, the DMG would
approve it. Either submit a new NRCS recommended seed mix or commit to using the
existing mix (plus adding Prairie Junegrass).
8. Exhibit F -Reclamation Plan Map -the latest response references an exhibit F map but it
does not appear one was submitted. Please refer to requirements of Rule 6.4.6 and the
March 6, 2002 adequacy letter for information about what the map should contain. Again,
do not submit one of the old inaccurate maps. Also, be reminded that the Exhibit F map
must contain all the information required in Rule 6.2.
9. Exhibit H -Wildlife Information -your most recent response says to see information from
the Division of Wildlife. Also, the exhibit states that "the Allison Gravel Pit will have little
r (sic) no impact on wild life..." This amendment application is for the Elbert Gravel pit,
not the Allison Gravel pit. Could not find the DOW wildlife statement in the response
packet, Please submit a corrected Exhibit H and submit the referenced DOW wildlife
statement.
10. Exhibit I -Soils Information -Please submit this exhibit or commit to using the existing
approved Soils survey.
11. Exhibit K -Climate Information -climate information was not submitted with the recent
response. You need to submit a new exhibit or commit to using the existing approved
climate report.
12. Exhibit S -Permanent Man-made Structures -you have identified a power line which
enters the permit azea from the east as the only man-made structure within 200 feet of the
affected land boundary so the applicant must comply with section "a", "b" or "c" of Rule
6.4.19. Also, you need to identify any and all other structures (gas line, phone line, fiber
optic line) that may be located within 200 feet of the proposed affected land boundary (any
utility line that may be buried in the borrow ditch on the west side of Elbert highway or the
north side of county road 102 will be within 200 feet of the proposed affected land
boundary). There aze warning poles and small flag markers in the borrow ditch west of
Elbert highway. What are they for?
The man-made structures, and the owner's name, must be shown on the exhibit maps.
Compliance with section "a", "b" or "c" of Rule 6.4.19 is required for ail structures.
Pursuant to Rule 1.8, the applicant must file a copy of this letter, a copy of the most recent
response and a copy of the response to this letter with the County Clerk and Recorder and
provide the DMG with an affidavit or receipt demonstrating that the revision was filed with the
Clerk and Recorder.
Prior to final Division consideration of the application, the applicant needs to submit proof of
publication (pursuant to Rule 1.6.5(2)) and submit proof of notice to all owners of record of the
