In the past, this pi[ has been used by several different entities for road building and construction materials. We will continue to supply these materials to the El Paso County Department of Transportation as well as others in the area. We will also be using this site to provide materials to our concrete and asphalt plant locations in the El Paso County area. We have included all of the information to outline the mining and reclamation activities that will be put into place at the permit site. We would ask that this permit be issued as a "life of the mine" permit. It is difficult to determine what the life expectancy is for the site because of the changing needs of the construction industry. We have purchased some additional acreage that adjoins the already permitted area. This amendment will make the total permitted area 295 acres. In addition to the added permit area, we would ask that the total disturbed area be increased from 41 acres to a maximum of 50 acres of disturbance at any time. We do not feel that these increases will have any negative effects on the surrounding area, as this property has been a mining site for the past several years. As well, there are other permitted mines in this general area of El Paso County. We appreciate you consideration in this matter.
